Behind the Scenes: The Journey of Creating sewsewcrochet.com

Hello and welcome to sewSewCrochet.com! I’m excited to share the journey of how this website came to life, and believe me, it’s been quite an adventure. Balancing a full-time job while building an online presence for my crochet business has been both challenging and rewarding. Here’s a little peek into the process and the lessons learned along the way.

A New Beginning: Learning as I Go

When I decided to create sewsewcrochet.com, I had no prior experience in web development. My evenings quickly became filled with tutorials and trial-and-error experiments. Learning to navigate through the intricacies of web design, especially HTML coding, was a steep learning curve. There were moments of frustration, but each small victory kept me going.

The Importance of Capturing Every Moment

One of the critical things I realized early on was the need to document my creations through photographs. Each new product or colour variant needed to be showcased on the website, which meant I had to get into the habit of snapping pictures during my creative process. This step was vital in ensuring that my customers could see exactly what they were getting.

Coding Challenges and Personalisation Hurdles

The most challenging part of building sewsewcrochet.com was incorporating personalised options for my customers. Initially, the personalisation worked seamlessly for buyers, but I face a significant issue: I couldn't view these custom details as the store owner. This hurdle was incredibly frustrating, as personalisation is a key aspect of my business.

Overcoming the Obstacles

After countless hours of research, support tickets, and tweaking the code, i finally found a solution.  It was a huge relief to see the personalisation feature working perfectly on both ends. Overcoming this hurdle was a turning point, making the website not just functional but truly reflective of the bespoke nature of my products.

Up and Running

Today, sewsewcrochet.com is fully operational, and I couldn't be prouder. The journey has been a testament to perseverance, learning and the passion I have for my craft. This website is more than just an online store; It's a reflection of my dedication to bringing beautiful handmade crochet items to you.

Thank you for being part of this journey. Your support means the world to me, and I'm thrilled to continue sharing my creations with you here at sewsewcrochet.com

Stay crafty
